A week after having Max at home, he was weary. He didn't have any appetite, he drinks his pee and have a bowel problem.
We went to an animal clinic just a couple of blocks away from our apartment to have Max checked up and we wanted him to get a shot of rabies and the 5 in 1 shot. I told the vet everything that I could feed him about Max and he said that they will do a test for his blood to see if he have infections or any problem. We paid P2,430 for that.
The next day I called for the results and he said that the tests were fine and said that Max might just be adjusting from his new environment. I believed him but poor Max is getting weaker. I asked him what am I supposed to do because he is still not eating and drinking, vet said nothing. So I started to give him water with dissolved sugar just to give him a little help. Until I asked my husband to help me give him an antibiotic.
The next day, Max's tails is wagging!!! W were soooo happy! Then I thought about the animal clinic how they charged us with so much money and didn't really helped at all. I was so disappointed that the vet said we cannot give him an antibiotic when we were at his clinic. Max started to eat and drink water. His bowel's texture is back to normal. He is alert, happy and well now.
I also wanted to share my experience when Max started to have irritated skin, especially around his testicles. He kept on licking it until it turn so red and the skin is starting to peel of. I felt pity on him so I applied Bioderm Cream on his irritated skin. This cream is a spectrum antibacterial, anti viral and anti fungal. Two days after he sleeps well without forcing himself to wake up and scratch himself.
I am not demeaning any veterinarians, but I got disappointed that the simplest things they can suggest to help the animals would mean so much wasted money. I am not saying what I wrote here is what every dog owner should do when their dogs experience the same... but it worked for my dog.

Max
I posted a blog about my first dog, Gekok, who got lost almost two months ago. On the 12th of September we were doing rounds around the hood looking for Gekok. At the corner of a store made of plywood, there was a dog that looks like Gekok. I asked my husband to stop the car and look at the dog. He's so much like Gekok, he has a medium long body, short, wide paws only that he is white and has shorter fur.
My husband asked me to talk to the owner if they'll have the dog adopted by us. The guy in the store said that the dog is not directly his but a condo owner asked him to take care of him. The condo does not allow occupants to care for medium sized to big dogs. The "adopted" dog's owner have two shi tzus -- Ruffles and Blue. The guy said for me to talk to them but I needed to return the next day as it was already 8pm.
I went back to talk to the owners and I met Tita Maggie. As Tita Maggie opened the door. Ruffles ran to me and I immediately picked her up and she started to kiss me furiously. Blue came next. I told Tita Maggie that our intention with their dog, Maximus as they named him after the Gladiator, were pure. It didn't took me a lot of time to convince her but we were waiting for two hours for her daughter to wake up. Her daughter bought Max at Boracay when he was 2 months old and brought him to Roxas City.
It was 1pm and I needed to head back to our apartment without Max to cook food for lunch. Our apartment is just 5 minutes away from Tita Maggie's condo. We were anxious for her to send us a text message saying that we can bring Max home. It was 4pm when finally she told us to come back and talk to her daughter.
Clay is a sweetheart. She was a very nice person, the family are. So, she interviewed us and exchanged stories about our dogs. She only asked us to do one thing, to take care of Max. We said we will also love him. Her parents said that they will come by our house to visit Max from time to time. It was a request immediately granted. She was teary eyed as we (me, my husband and her parents) left their house.
Max was unease as expected but he ate and drank a lot. We had a little hard time trying to train him. I am proud to say that Max knows when to pee, poo and play. He is still learning and he is happy that he could run, walk and jump.
Isn't he cute??? We love him!
